Based in 2002, the Brussels Design Market is a flea market exclusively dedicated to the design, essentially of the beginning of the 50’s to the 80’s. Since 2009. On September 12th, about 100 exhibitors, professionals and design addicts will come from Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Germany and from Italy, to display their furniture and objects of the 50’s to begin 80’s in a friendly atmosphere.
The exhibitors bring rare and beautiful more anonymous pieces. You’ll surely find the classics : of Eames or Panton, tables Knoll, armchairs of Bertoia, etc. Scandinavian, French, Italian, American furniture, goes alongside to some ceramic and glass, collectors, plastic accessories, metal, wood or bakelite objects.
Brussels Design Market is an event within the anual Design September festival. During the last edition, there were about 80 events. Due to a reorganisation of the festival, there will only be 50 events at this edition. Expositions, conferences, debats, visits to design studios and flee markets will be a part of the program. Two major exhibitions at the “Atomium” and at the Electric Power Plant should contribute to an expansion of the design fever to larger organizations.
